Open Call for Nordic Cases using Wood in Construction

The 25 best projects will feature in a new Nordic Council of Ministers report, which aims to develop understanding of the benefits and drivers of wood in construction, showcasing the Nordic projects leading the way.

What we're looking for?

Nordic projects, organisations and companies leading the way using wood in construction.

We are accepting applications from projects throughout the wood in construction value chain, from forestry, production and development of buildings, construction, and finally decommissioning.

What’s in it for me?

The selected projects will be held up as examples of the best ways to work with wood, demonstrating the tangible benefits on offer. The projects will be shared widely across the Nordics and internationally via a concerted Nordic Council of Ministers and Climate-KIC communication effort, showcasing the region and pointing directly to your expertise and excellence.

How do I apply?

We estimate that filling in the application will take about 15-20 minutes, and recommend that you take a  look at our methodology guide before you fill it out.

How are cases assessed?

All the shortlisted projects will be assessed against our criteria: innovation; environmental benefits; social and local benefits; economic viability; and partnerships.

Projects must also:

  • have a clear role in the use of wood in construction of buildings
  • where applicable, buildings must have a substantial use of wood
  • the project must already be commenced - thus for buildings at least under construction
  • be in the Nordic region
